Bachata nights is iDance Studio’s Bachata concept organized at iDance Studio Söder on Thursdays. The evening starts with two-level courses in Bachata, so you always have something new and fun to use. The courses are taught by some of Sweden’s best Bachata instructors. After the course, the social dance begins where the focus is Bachata, sometimes we play some Salsa or Kizomba to vary the evening.

At Bachata Nights we aim for a non-prestige atmosphere where everyone is welcome and everyone dances with everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re out for the first time or if you’ve been dancing competitively for years. Dance creates meetings and joy and connects people, so come and help us spread the joy of dancing further!

What is Bachata?

Bachatan has grown rapidly in popularity all over the world and is now one of the most popular social dances in Stockholm. Bachata originally comes from the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic, the dance originates from the Cuban Bolero. In recent years, the dance has received many new elements, mainly from Spain, the most popular of which is called Sensual Bachata.

Bachata dance in its modern form is very similar to Salsa as many body movements and turns are similar. Bachata music is calm and easy to understand, making Bachata an excellent dance style to start with if you are new to the dance world.
